To begin, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is an action adventure based game for Nintendo’s Wii video game console. The story revolves around a young man dressed in green attire, and his adventures to save his homeland of ‘Skyloft’, A fictional land, situated high above the clouds. However, your adventures will eventually require you to travel to the surface below. The world below the clouds, a land seen in many previous Zelda titles, the land known as Hyrule. The story will seem familiar to fans of previous Zelda titles, and at times may even feel a bit stale and recycled. It mostly revolves around defeating enemy bosses, collecting items, eventually rescuing the princess (Princess Zelda, the namesake of the series), and defeating her captors. The artwork is crisp and beautiful, filled with vivid environments from the lushest forests to the darkest dungeons. The music for the game also sports a fully orchestrated soundtrack, further enthralling you in the magic of the story. Skyward Sword incorporates the ‘Wii Motion Plus’, an add-on to the basic Wii-mote allowing for more accurate movements and more lifelike animation. It will mostly apply to swordplay, finding an enemy’s weakness, and using your shield to block enemy attacks. You have the option of buying the ‘motion plus’ separately and plugging it into your Wii-mote, or buying a new model Wii-mote with the motion plus already built in.
